Her personal experiences as an immigrant, combined with her extensive experiences as a practicing psychologist have shaped her holistic view of mental health. Dr. Kuofie’s approach to care is centered on her clients and grounded in an understanding of how each client’s biological, psychological, and social context influences their distress and ability to engage in and benefit from therapy. She accomplishes this by providing warmth, empathy, patience, flexibility, and unconditional positive regard for all of her clients.
Dr. Kuofie believes that success in therapy is defined by significant improvement in how her client’s feel in their moods, greater resiliency and increased confidence managing ongoing or new stressors, improved relationships with friends, family, and/or significant others, and consistent use of skills learned in therapy long after treatment has been completed.
