ABOUT DR. KULWINDER (KARAN) SINGH, PH.D.

Dr. Kulwinder (Karan) Singh is a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of Psychological Healing in the greater Los Angeles area. Dr. Singh is an expert in applying evidence-based treatments, which are gold-standard therapies that have the strongest research support. His core goal in therapy is to create a space for healing and self-growth by establishing a deep connection with his clients through empathy, active listening, and non-judgment. During this process, Dr. Singh teaches clients the most effective skills and tools to improve their mood, relationships, and self-understanding. He also focuses on making observations and sharing his insights into his clients’ thought processes and behaviors they may be unaware of. Ultimately, Dr. Singh believes that a strong relationship between him and his clients, while using the most effective cutting-edge treatments, is essential for healing and growth. As a bicultural person of color, Dr. Singh also provides a multicultural perspective in understanding his clients’ experiences and difficulties.

Dr. Singh considers therapy a success when his clients meet the goals that they establish for themselves, can clearly identify improvements in their quality of life, and have developed strong skills and tools to maintain long-term well-being. By the time therapy is complete, many of Dr. Singh’s clients experience significant improvements in their mood, relationships, motivation, and greater connection with what is meaningful and valuable in their lives.

Outside of his life as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Singh enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and two dogs. Some of Dr. Singh’s hobbies include hiking, biking, and reading. He is also very interested in anything related to cars and technology. As part of his own self-care, Dr. Singh partakes in self-care activities such as mindfulness, meditation, and spending quality time with friends and family.
