About Dr. Connolly, Psy.D
Dr. Connolly has worked as both a clinician and administrator in the behavioral health system
for over 35 years, specializing in forensic psychology. She has conducted hundreds of court-
ordered evaluations and provided expert witness testimony regarding mental illness, risk to self
and others, and in the evaluation of sexual dangerousness.
Background & Experience
She has conducted Medical Disability Exams for the Department of Veterans Affairs and pre-employment mental health screenings for federal employees and law enforcement personnel.
Dr. Connolly was a clinical fellow at the Trauma Clinic, Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry, Massachusetts General Hospital specializing in the evaluation and treatment of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and survivors of acute trauma.
As a psychologist at the Providence VA Medical Center, she worked with veterans diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and mental health conditions associated with military stressors.
As the Assistant Commissioner for Forensic Services in Massachusetts, Dr. Connolly oversaw statewide mental health services for persons with mental illness who were involved in the criminal justice system.
Her expertise includes risk assessment and risk management. She provides psychological evaluations, treatment, and consultations on matters related to mental illness, substance use and risk of violence.
