ABOUT Leslie Szasz, LCSW

If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by trauma, anxiety, depression or ADHD, I’m here to help. As a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor in Ohio and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Idaho, I specialize in working with individuals facing PTSD, complex trauma, substance abuse challenges, and more. I earned a Master of Social Work degree from Ohio State University College of Social Work in 2012. I did my 15-month clinical internship at Ohio State University Harding (Psychiatric) Liaison/Consult Unit treating patient throughout the Ohio State University Medical Center.

With a warm, client-centered approach, I believe therapy should be tailored to you-your needs, goals and personal strengths. Beginning with our first session, I take the time to truly listen and make an effort to understand your story, conducing a thorough bio-psycho-social assessment to ensure that we create a treatment plan that works for you.

I have extensive experience treating Complex PTSD, particularly for individuals who have endured sexual, physical, or emotional abuse.  My background includes working in Acute Crisis Inpatient Care, leading PTSD-focused group therapy, and coordinating with St. Luke’s Hospital for pain management treatment. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR International Association, using Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing to help clients process and heal from trauma. Additionally, I am a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) and a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist through Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

Before private practice, I served for 16 years as the Employee Assistance Program Coordinator for the Cincinnati Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), responding to critical incidents and supporting FBI personnel through high-risk situations. My work has given me insight into the impact of trauma and the resilience of the human spirit.

Above all, I believe that healing happens in a safe, supportive and collaborative space. I check-in with my clients regularly, ensuring progress is being made and that they feel truly heard and understood. No matter where you are in your journey, I am here to walk alongside you.

Let’s start your path toward healing together.
