ABOUT Dr. Elizabeth Kidd, PH.D.

Dr. Elizabeth Kidd is a licensed clinical psychologist originally from Ohio. She earned her master’s degree in psychology in Boston, Massachusetts and went on to complete her doctorate degree in clinical psychology in St. Louis, Missouri. Throughout her training in a variety of urban and academic settings, she developed a strong foundation in evidence-based care and a flexible, client-centered approach to treatment.
Dr. Kidd has experience working with diverse populations, including military veterans and adults coping with PTSD, anxiety, trauma, and substance use. She primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while developing skills to create meaningful change. Her clinical style is collaborative, structured, and grounded in practical strategies.
Clients working with Dr. Kidd can expect a thoughtful, supportive space where goals are clear, progress is monitored, and treatment is adapted to their needs. She emphasizes both insight and action, helping clients move forward with confidence and clarity.
Now based in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Kidd brings a broad range of clinical experiences to her private practice. Outside of her work, she enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with her cat.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Dr. Elizabeth Kidd earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from DePaul University in Chicago, where she also worked in a research lab exploring the long-term psychological effects of chronic illness. She later completed her master’s in psychology at Boston University and gained experience at Brigham and Women’s Hospital conducting neuropsychological assessments in a medical setting.
She went on to earn her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Saint Louis University. Her research focused on cognitive screeners used to detect stroke-related impairments. She also studied cognitive aging. Throughout her graduate training, Dr. Kidd worked in a variety of settings—including academic medical centers, community clinics, and VA hospitals—providing therapy to individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use concerns.
Most recently, Dr. Kidd worked for two years at the North Las Vegas VA Medical Center, offering evidence-based therapy in a general mental health clinic for veterans. Her approach is grounded in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), with a focus on helping clients build insight, develop skills, and move toward meaningful goals.
Dr. Kidd is currently licensed to practice psychology in both Nevada and Virginia. She is passionate about creating a supportive, collaborative space where clients feel empowered to grow.
