Online Therapy for Depression

Clinically reviewed by Karan Singh, Ph.D.

Depression isn’t just sadness. It can show up as losing interest in things you used to enjoy, low energy, sleep and appetite changes, trouble concentrating, irritability, or a heavy sense of hopelessness. It’s common and treatable.

Approaches we use

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): identifying and testing the thoughts that keep you stuck
  • Behavioral Activation: rebuilding routines and rewarding activities step by step
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): acting on your values even when your mood is low
  • Couples or family sessions when depression is straining relationships

Therapy and medication

Our clinicians provide therapy. For moderate to severe depression, combining therapy with medication is often recommended, and we’re happy to coordinate with your doctor or psychiatrist.

Insurance and where we see clients

Our 45 clinicians are licensed across 20 states and work by secure video, with in-person sessions at our offices throughout the US. We’re in network with Aetna and Optum/UnitedHealthcare (Oscar through Optum/UHC). Anthem and Carelon members can see some of our clinicians through Headway.
